Folio 179: Garmers to Williamson. Explains his long silence with pressure of official business, away from Hamburg; refers to disagreement between English [merchants] based at Hamburg and Hamburg citizens trading in England about export of cloth [from England], reflecting that it serves no purpose that over such a trifling matter friendship between the two nations should break up; suggests that Williamson and he should be mediators and arbiters to affirm it [i.e. friendship] unless Swann returns [from England], as they [Hamburgers] wish and hope. King's resolution on proposition made by count K"nigsegg in Emperor's name [assistance against Turks] eagerly awaited.
