Folio 121. Earl of Cholmondeley to [Newcastle], enclosing: 1) a letter from Capt. ?V. De Mellis, commanding officer at Chester Castle, dated Sept. 27. 2) a letter from his brother J. Cholmondeley, dated 2 Oct. at Chester, relating to the equipping of the castle there for the lodging of 2 or 3 troop companies, and confirming that there is room for the storage of 200 barrels of gunpowder or more if it is found necessary to move it from Liverpool.
