Description

Folio 38. J. Nicoll, at Court Lodge, to [Newcastle], informing him that nearly 1,000 Smugglers had signed an association to oppose the French in the event of an invasion, and that he had despatched Capts. Gray and Sandford to France to gauge what forces, ships of war and transports were present on the coast at Dunkirk, Calais, Boulogne and Brest.
