Folio 17. John Sharpe to Andrew Stone that an enquiry has been made into the riot at Henley upon Thames. Encloses the examinations taken, and a letter from Thomas Newell whom he employed to make the enquiry. Enclosed: Seven examinations of men in Col. Fleming's Regiment. Thomas Newell to John Sharpe that he considers the riot to be a quarrel between the soldiers and some drunken men in the town.
