Folio 93. Ordnance, from Office of Ordnance, to Duke of Argyll and Greenwich. Asking him to intercede with His Majesty to revoke a warrant authorising the Governor of Landguard Fort to convert a building near the fort for his own use. The Board of Ordnance were not consulted in this matter, being merely presented with the bill and they fear that this could create a dangerous precedent. Furthermore they have discovered that two houses in Harwich were appointed for the use of the Governor and Lieut-Governor. The warrant is enclosed with an estimate and also memorials from Bacon Morris, the Governor, to Harrington and Walpole praying to be reimbursed as above.
