Lowe to Quarles. Contents of letter of 9 October. Has received the 35 cloths and sold 4 of them. Prices of all cloth likely to fall. Demand is small throughout Germany but may be better in Prague. Has only been offered poor quality wares in return for his cloth but if he hears of anything good will endeavour to make a purchase. Will do his best to sell all stock by Christmas, by undercutting if necessary. Details of purchases and financial transactions. Has bought some fine silk at a very good price. Will send no other wares in these ships unless can get some fustians at 44 - which he probably cannot as dealers hold out for 45. Prices of various wares. Has the chance to obtain some hemp very cheap - does Quarles wish him to buy? Madder expensive and likely to rise rather than fall. Advises Quarles to keep or to sell at a really good profit what he already has. Hopes John Kendricke will be made free at the next court, on Saturday. Exchange rate. Dated at Stade [near Hamburg].
