Lowe to Quarles. Contents of letter of 16-23 October. 5 appointed ships and 1 interloper have arrived safely. Has received Quarles's letter and understands his need for money as buying so many cloths. Almost none available on exchange in Stade and none at all under 12% interest, nor is anyone buying bills, so Lowe will be able to send very little home and will be hard put to it to furnish Mr. Jackson with 2000 dollars. Details of wares Lowe has bought for Quarles - in barter for cloth - all laden in ships which are now ready to depart with a favourable wind. They are all good commodities. Advice on price at which to sell. Details of sales since last letter. Exchange rate. P.S. Has received most of Quarles's cloth, including the 10 he has sent for Lowe's own account. Dated at Stade [near Hamburg].
