Lowe to Quarles. Discussion of price of the 22 cloths sent via Emden. Hopes Quarles has sent the rest of the cloths he promised - they are needed for Frankfurt and Leipzig. If Quarles sure he will not be betrayed, Lowe advises him send 40 or 50 cloths under a strange mark in the Interlopers' ships, consigning them to Verporten at Hamburg. Prospects for sales, 1 cloth sold, 5 remain. Will try to sell rest before closes accounts. Will not send any money at present, but keep it to pay debts. When exchange improves, will sell bills of exchange and send money home. Repeats usual advice concerning quality and quantity of cloth to send. Advises Quarles again to sell the madder as price falling. Other goods holding high prices. General financial plans. Exchange rate. Dated at Stade [near Hamburg].
