Lowe to Quarles. Contents of letter of 21-22 February. Gathers Quarles has sent no cloths to Emden but hears a man has arrived there from England with samples - wonders who he is. Asks him to send at least 200 cloths in forthcoming fleet and 100 in the next. Presumes Quarles wants him to buy nothing in Stade and as trade is so unprofitable is quite happy. All commodities at high prices - details. Madder still very expensive - will tell Quarles when situation changes. Exchange has fallen and rate now steady. Dated at Stade [near Hamburg].
