Lowe to Quarles. Refers to letter of 21 December. Hopes Quarles will send plenty of cloths in good time for German markets. If he can get cloth to Stade by mid-February Lowe could probably sell 50-60 cloths to Bally, Booth and Wolters, who want cloth in time for the Frankfurt market on 18 March. Again mentions Bartilott's commissions to buy 100 cloths for Italy - gives details of what is wanted. Lists cloths he wishes Quarles to send and prices he thinks should be paid for them. Will buy the wares Quarles wants and has asked Anthony Booth in Emden to buy wares there for Quarles and send them to Stade if he can, or failing that, to Hamburg. Details of earlier sales and financial transactions. Has made out another account up to 25 December which he sends herewith (missing). New financial transactions. Fleet has not yet left because of unfavourable winds. Ships are full of wares at high prices, which will yield small profits - Lowe glad he had not bought any. The prolonged east wind unusual. There has been no frost longer than 3 days yet, nor any prospect of one, though weather bad and stormy. News from Middleburg of shipwrecks. Bankruptcies feared in consequence. Exchange rate. Dated at Stade [near Hamburg].
