Description

Commissioners to the committee of estates. Names of peers are followed by 1. Commissioners for 'Barrons' [over 50 names] with their dwellingplaces and/or offices, e.g. 'of the college of justice in shere of Greenock'. 2. [30 to 40 names] with the places which they represented, apparently all boroughs. 'The said estaits add as supernumerarie to the fornamed persons'. John, earl of Loudoun, the lord high chancellor. The list is [? affirmed] by Sir Archibald Johnstone of Warriston, clerk register. [Endorsed] with title and date of the list.
