It is offered [? by] the committee of the kings house and affaires of the exchequer' [cf. Acts Parlt. Scot. vi, pt. 2, pp.572a, 573b]: 1. The commissioners of the king's [? house] and exchequer are forbidden from this date to give precepts for payment of pensions without warrant of parliament. 2. Any who have [? gotten/given] precepts since 1 January 1650, and have not already been paid, ['be not now payed' - crossed through] after the date of [? these] presents without warrant of parliament. 3. The king's advocate is to give full information of all dilapidations from the crown since 'K. James his going in to England, in what Condition the samen stands and how farr it is quarrable in Law'. 4. The parliament is to 'call for' all [? gifts/pyxes] and pensions in order to decide how much, if anything, is to be paid. Note [in different hand, probably that which has made alterations in 1-4]: The king's rents are to be applied only for his necessary use, and for the entertainment of the royal family. [Very untidy, with many alterations. This part of the note originally read, 'necessaries to his Maities personn relating to his coronation']. Dated at Edinburgh.
