[? Draft order for] payment of wages for commissioners to parliament. In accordance with an act of the parliament sitting at Edinburgh on 11 November 1641 [cf. Acts. Parlt. Scot. v, p.548b], Sir Archibald Johnstone of Warriston, clerk register, certifiesthat the lairds of Edzell and Balzeordie, 'commissioners from the shrefdome of Forfar' to the last two sessions of parliament, from 4 January to 16 March and from 23 May to [? 7] August, should receive £5 a day until 7 August, with four days allowed for travel to and from each session. The total for 'both' is £1,380. [A final sentence crossed through]. Marginal note [in different hand], giving titles of the two men 'anent thr. payment'. Dated at Edinburgh.
