(i) Acquittance by Alexander Robson, merchant, burgess of [?], for £110 Scots received from David Ros, merchant, burgess of the same [? city] in full payment of 'my haus maill'. He discharges the former debtor from all further claims in connection with this, and [? agrees to have the acquittance registered in the books of council and session]. He appoints [blank] his procurators. Three witnesses [named]. [Signed by] Robson and the witnesses. [Endorsed, in two different hands]: 1. 'discharge Robsone to Ros Reg[istered] 4 Junij 1649'. 10 November 1639. (ii) 2. Robson's procurator appeared and consented to the registration. [Illegible signature]. [Whole M.S. very faded and blotted]. 4 June 1649. [One of the dates for the two endorsements is presumably wrong.]
