John Oswald, minister of Pencaitland [cf. f.169], acknowledges the receipt from Sir Robert Richardson of £[? 1]05. 2s. 8d. Scots towards his stipend, due from the great and small tithes of Richardson's lands in Easter Pencaitland for 1633, and dischargesRichardson his heirs and executors, of all liability for this payment. Witnesses are Mr. Robert Gilmour, the writer of the document and John Dick his servant. [Signed by] Oswald and both witnesses. [Endorsed, in different hand]: Names of parties to the suit. '1633'. Dated at Edinburgh.
