(i) Draft of royal order to [blank]. John McCulloch of Ardwell, ['George and James Mcbrydis' - crossed through], James Gibson alias McFadyen, G...[torn] and Alexander McCulloch complain that they have been wrongfully charged with the payment of £60 annually from 1628 to 1630 inclusive for vicarage tithes to Master Gilbert Power, minister at Stoneykirk, and appeal for the suspension of the royal letters granted against them. Power is therefore to be summoned before the council at Edinburgh on 1 November, bringing with him the original order. The lords [of council and session] suspend judgment until 12 November, as Henry McCulloch of [? Autclair] has become surety that the pursuers will pay the first £60 if the lords think this lawful. [No seal or signature]. [Endorsed, in several different hands]: Edinburgh, 4 October 1630. (ii) 1.-3. Notes on further stages in the case. [? Procurators] are Neilson and Cunningham. 4. 'Coppie suspens [? 1630] Jon McCulloche of Ardwell and his tennents contra Mr. Gilbert Power [? producit per] Neilsone'. 6-7 and 16 November 1630
