Description

(i) Draft of royal order [so carelessly written as to be largely illegible] to [blank], sheriff [? s] in hac parte, to summon various parties to a suit to appear before the lords of council and session on 24 May, bringing with them all relevant documentation. The pursuer is apparently Sampson [? Kyd/Ker], and the dispute concerns five [? tenants, named] of Auchterhouse and an obligation alleged to have been entered into by the late Sir George Douglas of [? Holme hill] on behalf of Mistress Mary Douglas, also deceased. [Unsigned] [Endorsed, in different hand]:, 23 March 1610 [?or 1613]. (ii) Note [now illegible]. 17 July 1610
