Documents concerning legal proceedings: Hugh Halcro against George Millar. (ff 110-114): (i) Extract from the act book of the lords of council and session. The pursuer appeared by Master Alexander Peebles (Peblis) his procurator, but the defender, although 'oftymes' called, did not attend. The lords have assigned 1 July for a further hearing. The pursuer is to have letters to summon witnesses, and he is to bring all documents relevant to prove his charges. The defender is once more to be summoned. [Signed]: Joannes Skene. Edinburgh, 31 May 1609. (ii) Marginal notes [in different hands], ? assigning further dates for hearings. 13 March 1610. (iii) [Endorsed, in yet another hand]: Names of parties to the suit. 5 February 1611
