Documents concerning legal proceedings: Hugh Halcro against George Millar. (ff 110-114): Royal order to Henry Linklater and [blank], sheriffs in hac parte. Details of charges [cf. f.110] are given. [The defender and] witnesses [unnamed] are to be summoned to appear before the lords of council and session on 1 July. 'Per actum dominorum consilii'. [Signed]: Jo. Thomesone. Seal. Notarial sign. [Endorsed]: 1. By Henry Linklater. On 10 June he personally summoned George Millar, and gave him a copy of the summons. Three witnesses [named] to his action. [Seal, said to be affixed,now missing]. 2. By Linklater. On the same day he personally summoned four witnesses [named], and gave them copies of the summons. Three witnesses [named] to his action. [Seal, said to be affixed, now missing]. 3, 4. [In different hands]: Names of parties to the suit. Dated at Edinburgh.
