Hugh Halcro of Aikers, owner of the mills of Tenstan in Sandwick, Mainland, Isles of Orkney, has leased them to GeorgeMillar of Browagan at a rent of six meills [a)rent or tax b)meal] of meal, Orkney weight, equivalent to nine bolls [measure of capacity for grain or weight for flour] of meal. The defender has occupied and worked the mills continuously since 1592, but has never paid the pursuer any meal nor the price of it, calculated at £4 a boll. He is therefore to be summoned before the lords of council and session on 31 January next to pay what he owes. Witnesses [unnamed] are also to be summoned. [Signed]: A. White (Quhyte). Seal.
