Documents concerning legal proceedings: John Viccars against several debtors. (ff.103-106): Royal order to Alexander Govan, 'messinger', and [blank], sheriffs in hac parte. As the lords of council and session have assigned 19 June to John Viccars [for the continuation of proceedings] the defenders [named] are to be summoned to appear on that date to give their oaths of verity about the payment of the sums alleged to be owing. [Signed]: James. J. Hay. '16 Junij 1607'. Seal. Notarial sign. [Endorsed]: 1. [In same hand as f.104r]: 'Laird Braid Johne Young bailyie poteraw [illegible word] and Eustaches wyff. Summonds'. 2. [In different hand]: 'Ye lard of Braid'.
