Documents concerning legal proceedings: Archibald Inglis and others against Robert Lumsden. (ff. 81-84): Royal order to Robert Donaldson, sheriff in hac parte. He is to summon Lumsden to appear before the lords of council and session on 12 January, bringing with him the 'pretended decree' of 3 March 1595 so that it may be officially rescinded. If he does not appear the lords will annul the decree. [Signed]: James. A. Hay. [? Ayton]. Seal. Notarial sign. [Endorsed] by the sheriff. On 9 January he personally summoned Lumsden, and gave him a copy of the summons. Two witnesses [named] to his actions. Seal. Note [in different hand]: 'Inglis contra Lumsden'. Dated at Edinburgh.
