Documents concerning legal proceedings: John Anderson of Dunfermline against Bessie Paulle [née Cairns] and George Bickerton (Bikartoun) (ff. 59-69): Heading [in different hand from the remainder of the document]: 'Bruce for the persewar'. Extract from the act book of the lords of council and session. The pursuer appeared by Master Edward Bruce, and the defender [George Bickerton now alone] by Master Thomas Wilson. 24 July is assigned for a further hearing. The pursuer is to have letters to summon ten witnesses [named] who were previously summoned but did not appear, and others if he so wishes. [Signed]: Alexander Hay. Notarial sign. Marginal notes as on f.63(1). Dated at Edinburgh.
