Documents concerning legal proceedings: John Anderson of Dunfermline against Bessie Paulle [née Cairns] and George Bickerton (Bikartoun) (ff. 59-69): Extract from the act book of the lords of council and session. The detailed charges are set out. Although the defenders have been repeatedly ordered to produce the relevant documents before the lords of council and session they have not done so. 25 June is assigned for them to obey the order or to show reasonable cause why they should not do so. [Signed]: Alexander Hay. Notarial sign. [Followed by] Note [in different hand]: ? The case to be continued on [blank] July. [Endorsed]: Names [in a third hand] of parties to the suit. Dated at Edinburgh.
