'Order by the King' and Council in the Marches of Wales to [Thomas Vaughan] to call before him parties in enclosed bill (missing) and, if he believes bill justified, to instruct defendant to appear before the Council in the Marches 27 September. Bill and certificate of proceedings should be returned by hands of plaintiff. Endorsement: 'To our trusty and well-beloved Thomas Vaughan, steward of Clifford, and in his absence to the lieutenant there'. Dated at Ludlow.
