Description

Letter from John Bassett to the Council in the Marches. Gives names of the eight defendants [see ff.7-10] accused of detaining cattle 'given to the King's majesty by the late Act of Parliament'. Cannot send copy of presentment with ap Gwyllim as ordered, as has left it in London. There is no possible profit, 'for other men have bought' the oxen. The Court of Augmentations has assessed value of goods and cattle in Rad. 'depending upon the [? like] interest' at £204. Signed by Bassett. Endorsement to the Lord President and Council in the Marches. Jottings(in another hand), including 'Rouland Morgan' of the .... [not completed].
