Orders and payments made in connection with the three months assessment commencing 24 June 1660, of which Sir Thomas Player, Chamberlain of the City of London, is Receiver-general: Order of Parliament for £1,400 to be paid for the relief of maimed soldiers, widows, and orphans at Ely House and the Savoy Hospitals, and that another £2,000 be paid for their further relief; 16 Aug. 1660. Order appointing Mr. Ashley, treasurer of Ely House, to receive the £2,000; 16 Aug. 1660. Order to Receiver-general to advance the £2,000, which is to be repaid out of the assessments as they are collected; 16 Aug. 1660. Two receipts of £1,000 each, from William Ashby; 8 Sept. and 15 Oct. 1660. [p.12] In Calendar of State Papers, Domestic, Charles II, Addenda, 1660-1685.
