Bardsey Papers: Sarah Bardsey to [Peter Fabian]: has asked cousin Biggs to sell her late husband's clothes (described); to take care over the purchase of the communion cup and flaggon; has taken S. Awood's house; encloses for engraving a monumental inscription for her son, James Bardsey, B.D., who died 27 Oct. 1655; 8 May 1655 [recte 1656]. [The monumental inscription was erected in Scalford church, (Nichols, Leicestershire, II, 317, where the date of death is wrongly given as 1651).]
