William Streaten, mayor of Rochester, to the Lord Treasurer: a perusal of the charter of Henry VI should satisfy him; providing for brewing and baking for the many mariners delayed this reply; Rochester; 25 May 1590; Endorsed: by their charter they have the appointing of the searcher
