Description

Thomas Chapman to Sir Richard Sackvyle, Chancellor of the Court of Augmentations; Has visited Westcotes manor, co. Leicester, and examined John Rudinge's lease in which the Crown is charged with repairs. Estimates last year's charges amount to £18, but the farmer swears he spent £25; Leicester; 15 Dec. 1552. Subsequent orders for payment of £18, with receipt by Silvester Taverner, 29 Jan. 1553.
