Sir Horatio Palavicino to Sir Robert Cecil: sends for his perusal his letter to Masin who says M. de Sansy will not be dispatched so soon. The Florentines chose Baglioni as captain-general against Pope Clement, but he betrayed Florence to regain his property confiscated by the Pope. Masin thinks Antonio Perez is a man of the same type. News from Middeburg of the fleet leaving Lisbon for the Indies against Drak, but this is uncertain while Irish affairs are disturbed; Baburham; 31 Jan. 1596. Sealed; Italian.
