Indenture between John, Earl of Oxenford and John Langton, Abbot of the monastery of Our Lady of Graces, London, witnessing that the said earl had claimed - before time - of the said abbot three quarters of the manor of Westmill and of other lands and tenements in Westmill, Herts. Additionally the said earl had demanded of the said abbot relief for 2 knights' fees, by decree of John, late abbot of the said monastery, as the earl had supposed that the manor of Westmill and Meesden should belong to him. The said abbot has discharged the matter as he is not bound by law to the former abbot's decree. Therefore the said earl has granted to the said abbot and convent, and to their successors forever, that they shall not be responsible for the claim, etc, but only for the suite to the said earl
