Description

This series contains records of the British embassy and consulate in Lisbon, Portugal. Comprises letter books, 1809 to 1872, and a register of marriage notices of the consulate general in Lisbon, 1859 to 1876, together with a minute book of the British factory there, 1811 to 1824; and specimen papers dealing with questions of nationality, 1939 and 1944.

Correspondence for the period 1877-1938 does not appear to have survived.
