Description

This series contains general correspondence of the British embassy and consulate to Italy. The earlier records relate to the States of Tuscany and Rome only, prior to the unification of Italy in 1861. Thereafter, the series contains correspondence for the whole of Italy.

Separated material

No correspondence survives for the periods May 1860 to December 1861, 1920 to 1934 and 1941 to 1943.
