Folio 105: Stormont to Weymouth. Though the report of the capture of the Beaumont is universally believed, [f.70], he is assured that Vergennes and Sartine have received no report of it. La Motte-Piquet's sealed orders suggest an expedition. Nothing openly hostile will be done until the return of the Spanish galleons at the beginning of the summer. 2 armed frigates are being equipped in La Rochelle to take arms to America.
