Folio 61: Peter Liege to messers Long, Drake and Long. The formality of the restitution of the ships' cargoes has taken place but the ships were not in a position for him to accept them cask by cask. They must be loaded at Paimboeuf. The dues for storage meanwhilewill be high. Most English seamen would prefer serving the Americans to going to London and `be prest'.
Date and place: 1777 Nov 5 Nantes.
