Folio 3: Stormont to Weymouth. He reports on a talk with Maurepas. He spoke, by order of his court, about reports contained in SP 78/304 f. 260 and these activities could be stopped, before they could lead to war. He reports Maurepas' comments. Maurepas alone could halt these activities; if he sincerely desires peace, he will. Stormont describes the tone of voice he used and why and he refers to the duplicity of the French court.
