Folios 11-18: Stormont to Weymouth. He was using his discretion in not immediately asking for an audience with the king. He talked with Maurepas at great length. He asked ministerially for France to agree to sequester all prizes brought into French ports by the rebelsand not to send reinforcements to the West Indies. If this was agreed, he would ask for an audience with the king, provided Maurepas agreed and that the king would reply to the king of England's declaration of his desire for peace. If France did not agree to his two requests, he would not ask for an audience. Maurepas promised an answer after consultation with the king.
