Description

Folio 239: Admiral Montague to lord George Germain. He reports the plundering of the French ship Three Brothers, driven ashore on Newfoundland, by local people. One of the leaders was in custody and the French supercargo has received back more of his cargo than he could have expected and is perfectly satisfied.

Date and place: 1777 June 11 on HMS Romney St John's Newfoundland.
