Folio 137: Stormont to Weymouth. Sir Robert Herries has made an agreement with the farmers general for supplying a smaller amount of tobacco than previously. The French may purchase elsewhere but have rejected offers from the Ukraine because of poor quality. They may buy from American agents or Dutch merchants. Many merchants are planning direct trade with North America. He encloses ff.135, 139, 141, 144, 145 and comments on the amount of trouble Hauvé has taken.
Date and place: 1776 Oct 30 Fontainebleau.
