Folio 427: Stormont to Weymouth. He has secret and authentic information about a paper sent to Maurepas, warning him of the activities of the Choiseul party. It describes the parts to be played by the different members of the group, their characters and the different channels of communication between the queen and madame Gramont. Once in office, Choiseul would immediately attack Britain in the East Indies and exclude her trade from the Mediterranean, in cooperation with Spain, who would give up her part of St. Domingo in exchange for Gibraltar. Maurepas who wishes to die in office, will be on his guard and will inform the king, who hates intrigues, of all the intrigues at court.
