Folio 246: Josephe de Sabbe to [? Garnier]. He was a physician in America and, faced with the choice of joining the rebels or being tarred and feathered, he escaped by ship, leaving behind all his possessions. On arrival at Liverpool he was imprisoned for not paying for his passage, which he could not do, and has been in prison since April. He asks for his petition [f.248] to be placed before the king.
Date and place: 1776 July 6 Liverpool prison.
