The comte's symptoms are described as a violent putrid fever and the spots were thepurples not measles. Maurepas and Aranda are at Marly. There are reports of arming at Brest, Rochefort and Toulon. The grand duke of Russia is to marry the eldest daughter of prince Frederick of Würtemberg. The king of Prussia is said to have made this match. He encloses the latest military ordinance [missing here] and a list of divisions of the French army, with names of lieutenant generals and brigadier generals [f.203]. St. Germain's plan will not be completed for 5 or 6 months. He refers to unconfirmed reports of the defeat of the rebels at Quebec and the capture of general Lee.
