Folio 171: Stormont to Weymouth. He encloses a decree by the Parlement [f.175], clearly showing its animosity to Turgot. No controller general, who will do his duty, can be popular. But he has the support of the king, who will enforce the registration of his edictsin a lit de justice. St. Germain will carry through his plan, partly curtailed in regard to the gens d'armerie and the carabiniers, and has appointed Montbarey as director general of war. Two American vessels have arrived at Bordeaux.
