Folio 266: Stormont to Weymouth. Vergennes, although he, Ossun and Aranda had not been informed earlier, was very pleased at the news of Portugal's direct reply. He suggests a rough drawing of frontiers (une cote mal taillée) as the area included a vast tract of desert. The courts of Spain and Portugal should not quarrel about punctilio. He had no knowledge of arming at Cadiz. Vergennes again raised the question of Newfoundland.
Date and place: 1775 Dec 27 Paris.
