Folio 167: Extract from letter to baron Alvensleben from lieutenant Wideburg, quarter-master of the Prince Ernst battalion. It gives an account of the loss of most of the officers and the two boats from the Unity and how the officer, who remained, with the help of 6 sailors and those who manned the pumps, kept the ship afloat until close to land, when French troops and sailors risked their lives and 167 were saved. [see f.157].
