Folio 251: St. Paul to Rochford. Sartine is going to Brest to examine the state of the magazines. He reports on the king of Prussia's ways of harassing Danzig. The landgrave of Hessen-Kassel has been in Paris for 10 days, incognito as count Buchwald. The French court appears to ridicule the Spanish expedition. He has found no evidence of money being banked for the Americans. Encloses f.255. Many believe that Guines and Vergennes are not on good terms, St. Paul is not clear why. He comments on relations between France and Spain. In Madrid O'Reilly is lampooned. Don Pedro Castejon is disgraced.
