Folio 86: St. Paul to Rochford. He reports what he has heard about the coronation, with details of the clergy, who carried out the anointing. The crowd applauded the king and queen. The Comte de Boisgelin, archbishop of Aix, preached a sermon lasting an hour. Someambassadors quarrelled among themselves about precedence. Aiguillon has been sent to his estate, raising hopes of Choiseul's supporters should Maurepas retire. Kerguelin has been tried by court-martial and sent to prison for disobeying orders and extending his expedition by going to trade with China.
