Folio 54: St. Paul to Rochford. Changes are expected after the coronation. He reviews the unsettled situation at court, referring to the positions of Turgot, Maurepas, du Muy and Sartine. Estaing and Ennery are spoken of for the ministry of the marine. Vergennes believes that the Spanish force is smaller than reported and aimed at the coast of Africa. Many, who are averse to war, fear the news from Spain. Masserano has left for England. Encloses f.57.
