Folio 14: St. Paul to Rochford. He informed Vergennes that the two memorials containing French complaints about the British East India Company had been answered. He gave the date of the reply to Châtelet and explained that the company's commissary had been instructed to answer the points raised by Francès. [See SP 78/277 f.27]. Vergennes promised an an early answer to a request for a proposal for agreeing a sum to be paid.
